PROKOM announces expansion following inaugural conference success

PROKOM, the independent community of Konica Minolta production printing users, has unveiled more expansion plans as it continues to develop into a global organisation.

Today [10 May] at the start of the inaugural conference in Vienna, Austria, that has attracted almost 170 delegates it has been announced that a second edition in Europe will be held in Budapest, Hungary, next June.

The ‘Power of PROKOM’ conference in Vienna from 10-12 May has been created to give members from all over the globe, including virtually every European country, a ‘hands-on’ opportunity to network, learn and grow their business in a multi-channel world.

“PROKOM began with a focus on Europe, which is why this continent was chosen hosted the inaugural conference,” said Andy Barber, Managing Director (Digital) UK Mail Ltd, who is Chairman of PROKOM. “However, we’ve seen fantastic growth in the number of members from North America and Canada, as well as support in areas such as Russia and further afield.

“The significant interest from the US, with over 30 registrations, is a clear signal we have to take serious for the future. It’s always been our intention to expand into other regions of the world – including a roll-out for Asia and further afield - for a ‘global community’, but this is another indicator why we have to find a way to deliver this.

“We exceeded our goal of 150 confirmed registrations which we set when we booked the inaugural conference last year. Now we know the appetite for such an event, next year we are looking hard at how we meet expectations going forward. I’m sure we’ll get lots of additional ideas on how we can better work together at this conference and in the future.”

There will also be many sessions including panel debates. Delegates will stay at the Imperial Riding School Renaissance Vienna Hotel, where the conference is being held. The conference hashtag is #pop17 and the PROKOM Twitter handle is @ProkomOrg
